Hi! My name is Piotr Szmielew.

I’ve been working professionally in IT for more than 15 years - first in Rails, now in Elixir.

When I was a junior developer, the best resource I found was Ryan Bates’ Railscasts. I learned a ton from it and it shaped the way I grew as a programmer.

Today I’m a seasoned developer with a strong passion for Cloud and DevOps. I’m a certified Google Cloud Professional Architect and Security Engineer, and I’d love to share my knowledge with you.

Speaking at conferences and running trainings showed me one thing - there’s a big gap in how our community approaches deploying Elixir apps. That got me thinking: why not combine my experience with the style of Railscasts that helped me so much years ago? That’s how deployingelixir.eu was born.

Here you’ll find focused materials and screencasts on deploying Elixir applications - to the cloud, to bare metal, and beyond.

New episodes will come out on a bi-weekly basis. Some will be free to all subscribers, while most will live behind an affordable paywall. The cost is the same as what I paid back in 2012 for Railscasts - I think that’s a fair deal.

And why a paywall at all? Simply because I have a family, bills to pay, and a very hungry corgi to feed. :)
